A selection of Dovetail Slides. Used for work feeders for production milling, positioning fixutres, work holding devices, checking fixtures, shuttle devices, assembly equipment, etc.
- Dovetail slides are a type of linear bearing with a dovetail-shaped (or V-shaped) channel that guides and supports a moving component (saddle) against a fixed base.
- Provide high stiffness and load-bearing capacity, making them ideal for heavy-duty industrial applications, machine and fixture construction, and metrology devices.
- Offers good resistance to shock and contamination but have higher stiction, requiring more force to move and limiting precise, high-acceleration motion compared to other bearing types.
- Tapered gibs are adjusted with a single screw that moves the gib on the taper. This type remains parallel and wears less as it occurs over the entire surface.
- Made of continuous cast GS 40,000 PSI pearlitic grey iron. Able to be milled, drilled, tapped, etc.
